Vaccine Debate Guide: Looking for your input

In the works is a comprehensive guide to help combat vaccine and also autism falsehoods. While an extensive list of studies, quotes and information is being put in, the authors do not want to miss any information that would be helpful. So whatever studies, articles, quotes etc. that you have please help out an send them to us. We ask that any information has references with it to help confirm its validity but it is not required as the authors have staff on hand to help confirm such information. This guide I’m told, is meant to help with vaccine and autism debates so it will focus mainly on areas of discussion such as; whooping cough increases, vaccine ingredients, vaccine risks and side effects, autism rates and increases, autism gut connection, autism issues that affect the body, autism genetics and environmental, autism causes, autism treatments etc. If you have information and can help contribute, please do; the final guide will be made available free to all and will hopefully help activists and advocates on these subject have quick, reliable access to information.

We thank all who are making this possible and those who help to ensure that as much information can be put in as possible.

Taking away the right to choose under the guise of informed disclosure/awareness

In case you aren’t aware there is a trend happening in the US as of late and it needs to be addressed before it spreads to neighbouring countries, namely where I reside. It is a trend that is very on the line of taking away our right to choice and freedom; all for profits. It is a trend that is making some parents feel forced; into doing something that they do not wish to do and it is also causing wrongful descriptions upon a categorized group of people.

What am I talking about? The bill that is requiring parents to get an extra signature on their vaccine exemption forms. Sounds pretty innocent when you word it like that; I mean what’s an extra piddly little signature anyway? I’m guessing that this is why it isn’t causing as big of a stink as it should but that’s not fact; it’s only a guess. I can only give my opinion based on the facts at hand because others may see this bill differently and I can only hope that what I have to say is considered by people in regards to this bill.

So why should I worry, why should my opinion matter since I do not reside in the states affected nor am I even in the US? Precedent, We see it all the time; one state passes a bill, other states follow and soon Canada may consider trying to pass their own similar bills. This is one reason why I am concerned and why my words should not be simply dismissed based on the fact that I do not reside in the area where the bill is passed. Is it really logical that my opinion is null based on that alone? Should we dismiss opinions or studies etc. because their origin is in another area? Does that make their information less valid because of this? No it doesn’t but alas there are those who use this excuse right away because they cannot dispute the information or perhaps they feel that the information is correct and try to make it seem unworthy of discussion; because there really are sides here and it becomes a very sad sorry world when one person’s choice or opinion is removed simply because another’s has basically taken over and deemed correct without any/very little information present.

Now how does a signature reduce people’s rights/freedoms and how can people possibly profit from this? It’s pretty clear once you understand the bill and I want to make it clear to people that while this bill does not state that vaccines are mandatory in anyway, it puts people in a position where they do not see the option to choose. So let us walk through it shall we. So if this bill were passed the situation would be as follows. You would need a signature from a doctor on an exemption form that can basically state anything as long as it includes that information about the benefits of vaccines were explained and still refused. There is no specific letter or form required to be signed, so doctors can pretty much make up their own form to be signed as long as it includes a statement about information being given. In a perfect world this would be no issue, but here in reality there are numerous problems to this and one of them being doctors lashing out and health facilities adding that little bit extra like, parents are aware that they are putting their child at risk or some other rubbish that could generate problems for the parents in the future.

A product should not be mandated; it should not be forced upon and for those that deny that vaccines are being forced upon the public must be blind to not see how they are. A ton of people truly believe that their children cannot survive without vaccines, that if they do not receive them in a timely manner that they will surely die a horrible, devastating death. While these misconceptions need to be addressed in another post altogether it helps form the picture of the constant push parents feel in regards to vaccines, which bring me to the next bit about freedom and choice. Parents who wish to get an exemption don’t want to sign a paper that says they are horrible for refusing something that they believe is not needed, goes against their beliefs or may bring harm to their child. How many doctors are going to be good about this and sign an exemption without the backlash? Especially when a lot of people who are getting exemptions do not see the mainstream doctors, run underneath the boheimeath health care empire, who are the only ones able to actually sign exemptions under the new bill. What if there is no doctor in your area willing to sign, since there is nothing in the bill to account for this possibility parents are left to go against their will and vaccinate, because even those who homeschool apparently fall under this bill as well. With no way to get a signature and the only option being presented is to give in, isn’t this essentially forcible vaccination under duress?

At first I didn’t even think about profit, normally it is usually the very last thing I look at which seems absurd to some people who have a base of “follow the money”. Now while I don’t think that, that method is horrible; in fact it is very useful and has brought about many conclusions, answers and motives to many interesting things. I though take information as my base and only use the money matter when I want to “plump up” the information, so to speak. Also since where I reside we have a slightly different system it didn’t even factor in at first. Of course that’s what research is all about isn’t it; discovering things you never considered. In the US it costs money to see a doctor, for each visit you have to pay, or your benefits company pays or like here; we pay in our taxes. In the US its more ‘out of pocket’ which also makes it easier to see that money is actually being made. So this extra visit (or possible numerous visits if it becomes difficult to get a doctor to sign) is making someone money. Not only that but you are required to go twice, since the bill also states that a new exemption is required again in grade 7.

If you look strictly at the money, you can see why this bill would want to be passed by doctors; and they have been making sure to show up in huge numbers to speak on behalf of the bill at hearings, also it should be noted that doctors are the only ones actively pushing for this bill. At a recent hearing for the bill the room was filled with two sides. At one end of the room were those who wished this bill to be passed and they were all doctors, every single one. On the other side of the room were those who opposed the bill and they consisted of people fighting for their rights to choose, doctors that were speaking out and most importantly; parents who have a child or children that were injured or died because of vaccines. Why do I think they are more important to note? Because unlike all the doctors who were there because of a conference with all the perks of a vacation, coincidentally taking place right next to the hearing, these parents had to take time out of their insanely busy lives (taking care of a vaccine injured child + working + the rest of the family’s needs + maybe just maybe, a bit of their own) to not only travel all the way to the hearing but also pay for the trip, out of their own pockets, when most of these parents are struggling already because of all the medical bills that they have to pay for their child who was injured.

So these doctors have every interest in this passing, they will get at the very least two paid visits from each exemptioner and if they’re lucky, the parent will give in and they will make money off of every vaccine that will be given; there’s what, almost 40 now? Why would doctors care so much about making money, is it perhaps that with all these people getting exemptions and having no need to visit their practices, starting to show up in their lack of profits? I can only guess as to why, but it all seems very sad to put people into this position all for money.

Not only are parents feeling forced to go against their choice, they are being shed in this shameful light that is so ridiculous and makes my head spin that people actually eat these lies up. This is being done namely through mainstream news reports and usually quoted from doctors or health care representatives. Over numerous articles, those who do not vaccinate are being put into a category with some or all of the following traits and also reasoning; too lazy to get their children vaccinated, stupid, do not understand science, living with misconstrued fear, abusive to their children, neglectful, burden to society by relying on others vaccination status, following a new trend, listening to misinformation and not reading “facts”, causing “outbreaks”, killing other people and children, have disease ridden children, do not know how to take care of children and/or keep them healthy, are poor and/or illiterate, are taking advice from a ‘disgraced’ doctor, taking advice from celebrities, taking advice from online, misguided, crunchy-granola-tree hugging-hippy people and the list goes on. Basically the general population is given the idea that those who do not vaccinate their children are uneducated, poor, awful parents who are creating these ‘bio-hazardous’ children that will go around and kill a bunch of people. Oh ya and they are lazy too.

Not only is this an unfounded, uneducated and completely bullshit bit of thought,, but people we are supposed to hold in high regard, people in charge of our health for f**sakes; are the ones saying this. Type in anti-vaccine into a search engine and site after site of remarks from people/authorities that push for vaccines; about an imaginary little group of people that are apparently bent on spreading fear, disease and killing a bunch of innocent people. Do the same search but for something like vaccine injury and you will see a different side; a picture more suiting of this “group” of people. What you’ll find is mostly people who has or whose children have been injured or killed by a vaccine and then doctors and other ‘specialists’ who are speaking out. They are well read individuals that take on the task – above their other responsibilities- to not only sift through countless amounts of information but also learn about studies, health, science, environment and other things they though they’d never have to know so much about. They aren’t people who have jumped on some ‘band-wagon’ and followed the crowd, they are not new and they are not some mob spreading fear. They are people who should be commended for their hard work instead of condemned for the knowledge they have learned. They know more about health and vaccines than most common doctors and their children are disease free, disease safely fought without spread and are lacking in nothing. Put simply; what is being portrayed is in fact the opposite of what is real.

If bills like this continue to be passed it will not only be taking away people’s rights, it gives a portrayal that vaccines should not be refused, that people who do are in the ‘low-end’ of society and put their children and others safety at risk, but most of all it sets precedent for other similar laws to pass easily. Bills like this only end up in the wallets of those who put them forth.

To The Few Who Are Following

I find myself apologizing once again for the lack of postings here as of late, I’ve been working on a few posts that are taking painstakingly long to find all the information to put into them. My time is also eaten up by my wonderful family as well as the many projects I’ve been taking on and I seem to have spread myself pretty thin. I must learn to schedule my time better 🙂

If you’d like, check out a few things that are being worked on…

CDC: To Smoke or Not to Smoke

What has the CDC been up to lately? Well among other things they are focusing on a big anti-smoking push. It’s been a big focus, has taken up several posts, grown onto television and as usual is placed onto cigarette packaging. It’s not just the CDC however; Health Canada has joined the ranks as well.

This all seems good, on the surface at least. It’s a wonderful thing for people to be informed, to know all the possible risks; even if people feel bombarded by it. So far the only complaints that I have seen are in concern to the television commercials that CDC is airing as they are apparently very repulsive and also occur during the time that children’s programming is on. People have felt that this type of commercial should be aired much later, during more adult programming because of the content in the commercials. Health Canada has changed the packaging on cigarettes once again, in light of this new anti-smoking push, by attaching more grotesque pictures in hopes of giving more information and possibly to deter people from actually purchasing cigarettes that contain such disgusting pictures on them.

While this may have some effect from deterring people from smoking, it is a very small amount and in my opinion is a very big waste of money.  Let’s look at a before and after to compare shall we. Before this big anti-smoking push, even before the no smoking in buildings law we were taught in school what smoking cigarettes does. In kindergarten we were first made aware of the effects of smoking and we had to go through a mini-program to educate us on smoking and help us take a pact, so to speak, to never smoke. Throughout the rest of school we continuously learn about the dangers of smoking in health class and even then, there were a few commercials portraying people whose lives were put at risk or cut short because of smoking.  Cigarette packing has contained warnings for some time now and put simply we are constantly made aware of the dangers for most of our life. People who choose to smoke –remember it is a choice and not something forced upon us- know at least the majority of dangers that come from smoking cigarettes and I don’t think that this huge push is going to stop those people from smoking. It’s a big waste of money revamping something that is already doing a good job as it is.

Looking more at the current time, we have new laws in place to prohibit smoking from inside buildings and establishments; while at first having a big uproar it is essentially a good thing, especially for those who wish to attend these places and do not want to be exposed to second hand smoke. Unfortunately this isn’t where they wanted it to end. Several attempts were made to ban smoking from public areas that were outside in the open, from inside vehicles and even peoples own houses. While there was a law passed that prohibits those from smoking in a vehicle with a child (which in my opinion is a well done job) the rest were not passed and thankfully so, as it starts to creep over our independent rights.

I wonder however, if people realize the implications of what was trying to be done, if they see the darker motives behind this beautiful picture of a non-smoking society and if they truly grasp what could have happened if these laws were passed. Now, every person has a choice in their health, whether it be; what they consume, what bad habits they have and even pertaining to medical assistance. When laws like this try to pass, they do so under the guise of helping people become healthier, to protect others rights and to make our society a better, safer place to be a part of. What is seldom mentioned is that while it may be proclaimed to protect some people’s rights it also encroaches on the rights of others.

Yes smoking is harmful and can have many consequences to your health and wellbeing; but again that is your choice to make. It seems that this huge anti-smoking push is getting closer to forcefulness and is skimming the boundary between choice and mandatory. Not being able to smoke in your car, house or even at a public event would narrow the areas able to smoke to such a small amount that it would in effect force people to give it up. Sounds pretty good at first doesn’t it, but what about the rights of the smokers, are they considered so less of a human, such a danger to everyone that their rights would essentially be taken away? The other concern in this is; where does it end? If we let even the smallest of rights be stripped from us then it sets precedent, it makes it easier for other laws to be put in place and follow suit. A little bit too into the future for some but for those of us that have seen how one law passed can ease the way for another to be implemented, we can see how easy our rights can be taken away in the name of health.  Now what more could this new program do to further what has already been done? Absolutely nothing, but remind us of what we already know.

Aside from that is the money. How much money is being spent to further warn people of the dangers of smoking, how much on extra commercials, better pictures and articles is spent to plump up a program that is already doing the job it’s supposed to. We need to take an example from the heads of health care and the pharmaceutical companies that they are incorporated with.

Cost/benefit analysis.

Before any product appears on the market be it treatment, drugs, vaccines or other common medication products; companies and health care agencies first see if it is profitable.  A small but fitting example is the use of booster shots. A lot of individuals do not need to get booster shots as they are still carrying antibodies from a previous shot. This can be tested very easily and would save people being exposed to virus(es) and ingredients in said product that are not necessary. However it has been determined that this is not only far from profitable but it actually would cost too much to perform this test, especially if everyone knew about it. Instead more money would be made by simply not publishing that information on a grand scale (or even a small one) and just giving everyone booster shots.  So how would this possibly relate to the anti-smoking push? Well we would have to find out how much money is being spent and compare it to the drop in smoking rates that occur after it has been implemented. As anyone can see for themselves that drop (if there is any) is very small and in no way does it justify the amount being spent. We would then have to compare to the previous method that has been in place for a while now, to see if it has made an increased improvement on the number of people not taking up smoking and also those who have quit directly because of the methods used. I can assure you that it isn’t much difference.

So why are they doing it?

This could be the question of the decade, why does CDC and other health care organizations like Health Canada do the things they do; for the health of the people right? Well that’s what I used to think as well I mean, why else would we have an organization in charge of our health if not to help improve it? Perhaps in the beginning it started out that way and even still today, perhaps there are people who still believe that what they are pushing is indeed the ‘right thing to do, for the better of the people’, but lately this perfectly strewn veil is slowly being uncovered and the view behind it is not only shocking but just as repulsive as the new anti-smoking commercials being broadcasted by the CDC.

Giant health care organizations have stopped being about health for some time now, even before I was born has this ceased to be the case. You know that the world has gone to hell when health becomes all about profit. There is so much I could touch on here but it really does deserve its own article, so I’m just going to stick to the anti-smoking push.

Now while the motives may be entirely different from my own opinion on it, I do think that this could be a big part of it and nonetheless it should be talked about, instead of swept under the rug like every other ‘health care gone wrong’ case. In order to understand the present we must first look to the past and we don’t have to go very far to do so. When my grandmother was younger you were still able to smoke in hospitals. Today it would be a shocker. How could a health organization allow such a thing in their buildings, buildings dedicated to the health and wellness of the people? It’s not as absurd a notion as you may think.

You see, not that far into our past is a time when smoking was not only thought to have no harmful effects, but it was also believed to have numerous health benefits. It’s so ridiculous; I couldn’t even make it up. CDC had put out studies and statements that smoking did not cause cancer. Since the CDC had said so, it must be true right? Doctors advised many people to smoke including mothers who may have heavy babies; as smoking was known to lower birth rates. Ads and articles were published with headlines of doctor approved, doctors recommend and the like; just as many products are toted today. 9 out of 10 doctors agree that smoking is good for you. While this isn’t the worst atrocity made by the medical community it is a notable one, because it does set precedent.

It all starts with the studies and statements that CDC put out. If the leading health organization tells you that smoking does not cause cancer most people will outright believe it, no questions asked and when they also say that studies have been done to prove this, a huge majority of people believe it. In a perfect world why would we doubt the organization put in charge of keeping us healthy, especially with all the purported studies to back it up? Organizations like CDC are made so that we don’t have to do what they are supposed to do. They are there to figure out health and give us the results, what should be the truth.  For example, if we get sick with something we should be able to go to an offset of this organization (hospital, doctors office, health unit) and be given the information we need (diagnosis, prevention, treatment etc).  This type of organization is essentially supposed to be able to help us on a grand scale and yet; they seem to be doing a lot of harm.

So what happened; how did the organization we trusted with our health mess up so badly on this?  While there are probably numerous reasons for this the best explanation is what happens to many organizations and companies that become really big. We see it all the time with ‘fast food’ eateries. Small shops are great until they start to expand and the bigger they get; the more the quality suffers and profit becomes goal. Not only that but, the people running the place cannot look over every single thing; that is why as it grows so does the number of people involved. Nothing seems to be coordinated enough to bring about any positive. The owners of subway cannot possibly be fully aware of the actions of one subway shop in the middle of a small town, not even the number of places in one city; so how can we expect an organization so huge to be able to do more than what they can handle.

Let’s face it, the world runs on money; something we invented, can produce at will, yet never seem to have enough to go around. When something becomes profitable, the wolves show up at the door; to think otherwise is completely naïve. Just take lottery winners for instance, how many relatives and old friends suddenly make contact. It’s not some conspiracy theory where it’s all planned out to ultimately destroy the world like some comic book story; it’s just simple logic. So in the case of the smoking doesn’t cause cancer studies; those studies came straight from Tabaco companies. CDC being a grand organization at that time relies strictly on the information given to them without preforming their own unbiased studies. The organization being so big and having no one but the government and the people to keep them in check, it becomes this unregulated system that oversees a massive amount of people. It is no wonder that the smoking issue got out of hand and it seems that today CDC is trying really hard to either make up for their previous mistake or perhaps they don’t want people to remember.

In a murder case motive is a big factor, so what could possibly be CDC’s motive in trying to make people forget that they once promoted smoking as a health benefit and that doctors blindly followed suit? It’s pretty obvious actually; look at what they are seeing as a threat right now. It had struck me as odd that CDC was suddenly taking up this big campaign against smoking, smoking hasn’t been a hot button issue. So why now, when the biggest controversial topic at the moment is vaccines? How in the world could the two even be linked together?

No I am not implying in any way that smoking causes autism; that’s an absolutely ludicrous idea since the effects of smoking do not correspond to the symptoms and areas affected in autism. In order to see where it ties in, you have to head over to an area commonly misdeemed antivaxxers. There you will find that one of the points they make is that;

Previously CDC stated that cigarettes do not cause cancer and that they relied on studies done by the manufacturers of cigarettes.

CDC currently states that vaccines do not cause autism and rely on studies done by the manufacturers of vaccines.

CDC stands adamantly behind the notion that vaccines are safe, effective and benefit humanity; even going as far as attacking those who do not believe this to be true. So is it any wonder that suddenly they want to make sure that people know that they are anti-smoking; thus forgetting about their previous statements made and how that situation is identical to the one we are in now, concerning vaccines.

How many years before we find out differently, before we find out that again we were told a lie because we relied on an organization to take care of us. Every month we learn about “medications” going off the market because they do more harm than they help. We learn that the medications we take; contain side effects identical to what they are intended to fight; like diabetes medication or anti-depressants. How many oxy addicted people do we now have simply because they were given it by a doctor, someone that is supposed to be looking out for their health, who never told them of the addictive nature of the drug? We are starting to realize more and more that these products out there, that we are told will help us; are actually doing way more harm than good.

So while CDC wastes money to revamp a program that is already doing a great job, they ignore the accumulating thousands that tell of their child regressing after a vaccination; then again I don’t think the CDC understands that accumulation exists 😉

What’s the big deal with AB2109?

All of us have noticed the big push from health care as of late and have read pages upon pages of tactics that they list and publish, to try and push vaccines on the total population. So is it any surprise that they are trying to change laws in order to make it more difficult to say no? Of course it isn’t and neither is it a surprise that they will make more $money$ because of this new bill.

Now while I am sure that it didn’t all start with Dr. Richard Pan, his name is on this bill so he is taking the brunt of the backlash. Despite the numerous postings of upset parents, practitioners and even people around the globe… he does not respond, but continues to post articles as if they don’t exist. Maybe he thinks if he holds out long enough, the bill will pass and they’ll all disappear.  But we’ll have to wait to see how that pans out.

There are a few who don’t get what the big deal is and protest that this isn’t forced vaccination so people shouldn’t be complaining. So what better thing to do than clearly outline what is so bad about this new bill.

Currently in order to get a philosophical exemption, one has to simply write and sign a piece of paper and send it to the appropriate place. The new suggestion is that in addition to that piece of paper, parents must also go to a doctor and listen to them lay out the benefits and risks of vaccinations, the doctor must write a letter, sign it and then the parent must write another letter and sign that one. This must also happen again once the child reaches grade 7 and applies to children who are homeschooled as well.

So now not only can’t you just opt-out, you have to sit in a doctor’s office and risk catching something, but you must also listen to them tell you; how wonderful vaccines are, how the only risk is a sore arm, maybe a possible fever and that you are putting your child and everyone else at risk by not vaccinating cause your child is now a cesspool of disease.

Before I move on to the next point of contention, I want to touch a bit on these papers that have to be written and signed, according to the new bill. Most of us are familiar with the general working of doctor’s offices these days. As it stands, most doctors don’t even discuss vaccines but instead simply state that your child is due for them. There is never an option given to opt out and most people are not aware that it is even possible to do so. Most offices don’t keep you in for the appropriate time to watch for an allergic or otherwise reaction after injection and most doctors have absolutely no clue, what the signs of a reaction are. Multiple stories from families all ring the same ‘the doctor would not even consider that a reaction was possible’ ‘the doctor kept denying that it could be the vaccine, despite all other possibilities being ruled out’ ‘my baby turned blue and stopped breathing and he just kept saying, it’s not the vaccine, it’s not the vaccine’.

I’m getting to my point I swear.

With doctors continually denying risks and not being aware of current studies how can they properly inform parents of the benefits and risks when they are so biased, uneducated and opinionated on the subject.  With that in mind we come to the signed papers. I have not found anywhere that it states what is to be written on that document. It would be nice to assume that it will say something like, risk/benefits were explained and medical intervention was denied. In reality it could be very different. Doctors could write that risk/benefits were explained and parent refuses, putting child and community in danger. Then the parent is required to sign a paper showing that they basically agree to the doctor’s paper. If a parent is being required to sign such a thing…… no wonder there is backlash about this.

People refusing to inject their children with a manufactured product didn’t do so lightly and didn’t do so out of laziness or lack of funds. People refusing are educated on vaccines, diseases and how to properly treat them without the need of synthetic materials. Doctors, hell a lot of people are dismissing real concerns as some passing trend. Maybe if they started acknowledging these concerns, actually listening and investigating; we wouldn’t have such a misunderstanding from health care professionals. It’s not from lack of trying, more and more people are not only learning about what is happening: they are seeing it with their own eyes.

The next point and it’s a biggie….. what if you cannot find a doctor to sign? Nothing in this bill states that a doctor must sign a paper allowing exemption and according to the new bill, without a signature you cannot get an exemption and therefore you child cannot attend school. This is where the mandatory vaccination line comes into play. Now follow along here…. Your child must attend school or you can be charged. If you cannot find a doctor to sign an exemption than your child cannot go to school, forcing you to have to vaccinate in order to gain attendance. Homeschooling is not an option because this bill also applies to homeschoolers. Since an increasing number of parents are now using chiropractors and naturopaths etc. and these doctors are not able to sign the exemption, they are left to seek out a doctor to sign. If no doctor in their area will sign (since it is a new trend to not allow unvaccinated patients in their offices) they have to travel in order to find one. What if this is not possible? Do they then have to go against their belief and vaccinate their child because, they have no other option. This is why parents are protesting this as mandatory vaccinating. They know all too well what their old doctors are like and how hard it will be just to say “no thanks, we’re good”

You all know my opinion; opt in not out!

I left the best part for last, because it’s something I noticed right away and here is why. With every new vaccine, drug or medical treatment; there is always a cost analysis to determine if it is viable to put to market. If a procedure costs more than it would profit, it is usually shelved. Vaccines are always checked to make sure that it is profitable and marketable. I saw this very early on when I started learning to read studies, so I noticed right away that there was some noting at the bottom of the bill, stating that any costs could be deferred and it got me thinking about how this bill could possibly be profitable. It didn’t take long of course, to see where the money was going to go and yes this bill will be making people money. Think about it.

Every parent in California, wishing to get a philosophical exemption will have to pay in order to receive one, because seeing a doctor there is not free, even for something that is mandatory.(this bill makes it mandatory to see a doctor in order to sign) Since it is being estimated by health care professionals that more people are getting exemptions and “putting people at risk” than it surely must be a lot of people right? All those people now having to pay for an exemption really adds up. Not only do they have to pay now but if their child is young, then they have to pay AGAIN when that child reaches grade 7. Next they’ll put in place a new bill making them return for another exemption for high school and it could go on like this. It’s obvious why they are doing this and it’s a very simple reasoning. Doctors are losing money and fast. Many people do not realize how many well baby appointments are recommended, all occurring when a vaccination is due. Not only are they paid for the visit but they make money on each vaccine given as well. If more people are not getting vaccinated and therefore not needing to go for well baby visits, then doctors are not receiving that money anymore. This new bill will ensure that, that money lost is partially made up, while also hoping that parents will crumble and give in to vaccines.

A final point of contention in this bill, that I nearly forgot to write about (it is 2am here) is that it sets precedent. I touched on before that people all over the globe are protesting on Dr. Pan’s facebook page and this is the reason why. If this passes, then more states will likely try to pass the same. Following in its footsteps could be other countries and that’s what worries people. Better to nip it in the bud now before we have a full out bloom that could eventually lead to a very real, very deadly and completely mandatory vaccination rule.

For now I am glad to be living in Ontario where all I have to do is pay $25 to get a form notarized and I don’t have to listen to someone less educated in vaccines than I, tell me that they are completely safe and nothing bad will happen to my child.

For now at least.

I Love Warriors

Are people sick of hearing about autism yet? I’ve been at this almost 5yrs now and still I couldn’t tire from it, then again I’m not really given that option am I. Sure those of you that aren’t affected by autism in some way (not many of those left I’m sure) are wishing for people to shut up about it already, more so I’m presuming that people are sick and tired of hearing about vaccines. Oh how I wish we could just shut up and that there was no need to be swamped by these things at every corner but it’s just not happening. So who is at fault? CDC for sticking to their ‘it’s genes, better diagnosing and more awareness’, giants like Autism Speaks that bring in millions and ignore families affected or the health system for continuously ignoring the problem.

There is a light though and it’s with all those warriors screaming and pushing for answers, solutions and action. These people eat studies for breakfast, perform therapies in their home as good as or better than the trained ones making the big $$$ and are ready for the next moment to arise when they can make some big change. Things may seem to die down a bit in the autism world but these people are constantly working, trying to change an unchecked system that has become detrimental not only to these children but to everyone.

Days like today show how on top of things these people are. First off I’d like to say that we know what the true numbers really are, if you hunt around you can find a few studies that look into more current autism rates and can give you an average estimate of 1 in 34 children. Not 1 in 34 boys, but 1 in 34 Children. But for now we have to look at published findings. Everyone (within the circle) was well aware of the CDC putting out a study to give a new autism incidence number. The thing about these people is that they know how to read studies and have probably been through hundreds already. It’s not surprising that this was easily torn apart, the study was complete bullshit and if anything was a slap in the face to families with autism everywhere. So all day a flood of information poured into the network concerning this and I cannot commend these people enough for their hard work and dedication but I am still left to ask this horrible question…..is it enough?

Is the message really getting out there to the people it should or are we just passing the information around to people who already know? I’m sure some are reached; I can’t say that all this effort is in vain but I think we really need to start thinking bigger. There really are a lot of people in this, just today an idea was brought into fruition in a matter of hours and here is one of the results of that. I could scroll through pages of people posting pictures of their children and it has only reached a small group of people. Looking at not just this but also previous endeavours, shows not only the amount of people affected and willing to speak out but also the sheer amount of determination in these people to make change.

So yes I can admit that the message is getting out there but it isn’t fast enough. 1 in 88 officially and that number is; children over 8, only taken from 14 states and the continued falsity that this is genetic and because of better diagnosing and blah blah aren’t you all sick of it already? I’m speaking to you autism families, autism fighters, aren’t you tired? An understate to say the least I know. How many hours spent researching, debating, learning therapies, learning treatments and fighting for a better life for these kids have been spent from you all? All for what, so that most still have to pay out the ass for therapies, so that treatments that actually work are not covered or even being considered, so that more parents have to hear ‘your child will never speak’ or ‘you will have to institutionalize’ or ‘your child will never feel any emotion for you’ or ‘the research has already been done’ when it’s all just not true!

We need to think bigger, grab people’s attention, make a huge impact and inform people, fully inform them. It would be nice if doctors knew the signs of a vaccine reaction and reported it every time, unfortunately this isn’t just going to happen. We need to inform the everyday individual and we need to do it oldskool J

Now hear me out before making any assumptions please.

Although we are big enough, we just cannot drop our lives to do some huge rally to demand change and even that may not be enough. With the time factor in mind I think a more Guerrilla approach is needed and would add to the impact already being made in a huge way. We can’t make time for change but we can take the time we are already using to do it.

Confused yet? I am getting to the point I swear. So there are a few things the vast majority of us all do; groceries, shopping, school, doctor, craiglist/kijiji, read the paper, go to work, just plain old walk outside. Yes the internet is an amazing resource for information but have we seriously forgotten about the old ways? Where are the days of posters on poles, notices at the corner store and flyers in mailboxes? I can’t say it’s all lost because those No Shots, No School, Not True, billboards are amazing and I do know of a few people who hand out info sheets but still it’s not big enough. So what if all of us got together and put out brochures, cards, flyers, take out ads to put information in and put things where everyday people can see. It is an easy endeavour to tack up a poster on the corkboard when visiting your local grocery store, even bigger would be dropping off a pile at the local doctor’s office or hospital waiting room. I have a few ideas on some things but would really love any input or ideas from others.  Our kids aren’t getting any younger and neither are we, we can’t wait for change to happen or for someone else to do it, we need to step it up and get the message out there. We have all this information that isn’t getting out there. I could walk up to 100 people in town and none of them will know the autism numbers, nor will they know it is treatable. Average people need to know the precautions they can take, they need to know that all is not lost, they need to know about organizations like autism speaks and above all they need to know what mainstream isn’t telling them.

So please consider this idea and hopefully in the near future I’ll be posting happy details about the project. Until then, live long and prosper ….and to you warriors, rest easy tonight, you all have done an amazing job.

As Our Journey Continues Unleashed

    Image

When we start this journey, be it life in general or a found purpose that sets you apart, that gives your life more meaning than the mundane one that most of us are living; we never expect to end up where we are. When I was first brought into this, I would never have imagined that it would take me here. In five years I’m sure to look back and think the same about this moment. The greatest thing about life is learning, discovering, exploring and of course experiencing.

If there is a beginning to all this, I’d have to say it started with experience as most things do and I, not being a person to lay down and not help, I started exploring. I spent years holed up learning and discovering, hours a day and sometimes whole nights lost to reading. The discoveries I made were not only profound but were also very upsetting; everywhere I looked I saw people that needed help and I saw almost every one of them, not getting it. It could’ve just ended there and yet, what they needed and the things that would help were easily obtained. I could see how easily these families could get the help and support they needed, I could even estimate that with FULL cooperation, kids could pass for “non-autistic” within 3 months and “fully healed” within a year. Of course its way more difficult to get to that point, there is so much unnecessary opposition it will make your head spin, I never once thought that I would be huge and make enormous change, but I did know that I had to do something; even on the smallest level possible. I couldn’t just sit around with the knowledge I had and not try to help.

There are several stages to this and as I go further into the rabbit hole, as I push for better support and more help, as I fight for personal rights and as I expand the help that I give; I come across new, informed and exciting individuals. I’ve mentioned a few already but there are countless others that I can only hope people will pay attention to.

The newest discovery of mine is Linderman Unleashed, after listening to the first segment I have to say; I am hooked. I loved the “tell it like it is attitude” that the show presents, as well as how relatable it is. The majority of families affected by autism are not celebrities, are not rich and do not have valuable resources at their fingertips. While the host of the show does have valuable resources available that is where the difference ends. They are everyday people, much like you and I, who have had an experience and have not just sat back and let it be. They don’t have tons of cash around to provide every therapy and treatment that would help, just as most families are. The best part though; there’s no holding back.

I really got into the show, several times I found myself nodding my head in agreement, laughing because I’ve said the exact same things before and the comment about Obama’s wife had me clapping. You’re going to hear things that few are brave enough to say, some think about but would never vocalize and others wish they had thought of first. I found the show not only informative (also with the promise to continue to feature a lot of useful information) but also entertaining. Anyone can drone on about issues and some are even funny. This though…..this is good stuff.

Now don’t get the wrong idea here, I’m not saying; everyone flock and worship the “great Linderman” as some very uninformed  groups believe, that those who oppose vaccines, think that one Jenny McCarthy is the all-knowing goddess of all gods. No, I’m just saying check him out, listening to one of his segments and judge for yourself. This is one of those ‘love it or hate it’ shows. These are the types that get a lot of attention. Look at Alex Jones, you’re either in love with the stuff he does or think he is a crackpot that should be put away before everyone starts thinking for themselves again. It doesn’t matter which way it goes, the point is it excites passion, ignites discussion and brings matters to attention. We need more people talking about these issues, we need more people speaking honestly, blatantly and not worrying about ‘tripping over other people’s feelings’ when doing so. I’m sorry but it’s time to stop tip toeing around things and while I don’t think screaming the issues in people’s faces nor does getting angry and freaking out, solve anything; we need to stop pissing around and tell it like it is.

We have numbers around 1 in 30 kids succumbing to autism nowadays. Five years ago numbers were around 1 in 200. 1 in 200 is insane as it is, but 1 in 30 after only five years. What the hell is going on? Why is it that some parents know exactly what is happening but professionals sit for decades scratching their heads (asses) at this problem, looking at it from every angle but the obvious? We don’t have time to pussyfoot about things like pro-choice, pro-safety and whatever else can stray away from the words anti vaccine. Morons who do not know the issues are the ones using those words. We all need to give the middle finger and move on to the actual issues. We get caught up in these inner disputes that take away from sifting through and gathering information, that take away from pushing for proper research and that distract us from doing what really matters; helping our children.

All Our Fish in One Barrel

The IOM; I certainly hope no one is relying on them, for anything. I lash out at them for good reason, time and time again they keep disappointing us with reviews of old studies (and not full reviews, just the end conclusion reviews) and seeming to never produce anything new and useful to us. It of course didn’t surprise me to find another review by the IOM float my way, again they are going to great lengths to deter from what actually needs to be examined and this time they are using very sneaky tactics….that or they really are, giant morons…and I really doubt that to be true. I can’t begin to claim that this is a new tactic, I truly do not know for sure. What I can say for fact though, is that I am coming across recent articles and studies using these same tactics. What I am referring to is the fake out; articles and studies are being put out that seem like they are actually looking into the proper issues, that after all this time, those in charge are finally wising up and going to examine these concerns properly. I’ve seen them posted around, quite often with much enthusiasm about “finally science catching up”, finally there can be acknowledgement about what’s happening to all these people, these children.  As you read through you will find that it’s sort of like a hush puppy. A nice little treat, laced with poison; the illusion of what you want, riddled with things that will hurt you in the end. This is no different, so don’t get excited because they have given you a whiff of a vax vs unvax study, sniff a little harder and the poison will be clearly smelt.

The first thing that should be noted, before even the fact that this is only a review and not a study in any way, is that the reason why the IOM is even conducting this review in the first place is not because of our concerns. By our I am referring to the common person; the parent of a vaccine injured child, the nurse who suffered a reaction from a job requirement. They are not the concerns of the doctors or scientists who are speaking up, not even from the statistics coming to light of SIDS numbers, or VAERS numbers or the sudden low birth rates in girls who received the HPV vaccines or the huge rise in miscarriages and still births following H1N1 vaccination. Nope, apparently all our efforts and media coverage and studies and actual numbers that should raise concerns; have not even mattered, have not been heard. The concerns of shareholders have been heard instead. What’s really happening? Who knows for sure, maybe all those parents saying no are actually starting to affect sales, maybe shareholders are getting nervous from all the screaming families and wanting to back out. Whatever the reason it has nothing to do with all of us out there on the battlefield…I don’t think battlefield is too harsh a word either. We are the ones caring and fighting for the injured, we have to battle against something that a huge percentage of people (ourselves included at one time) believe whole heartedly have saved them and continue to do so.

The second part to note is the actual review itself which is going to look at a number of things to determine whether the proposed study will even take place. I personally do not think that they will even conduct the proposed study based on what they are looking at. The very first is actually reviewing past studies, which they have done several times and determined that no other studies are needed; I do not see this changing. Next is determining the design, methods and limitations in conducting such a study; more than likely it will be concluded that such a study will be too complicated to produce. Financial feasibility is of course looked at and why wouldn’t it be, for they do it with everything; every new “treatment”, vaccine etc. goes through this before it is done or put out for public use and consideration, basically whether it is worth the money. Again this more than likely will get a giant thumbs down because it will be seen as a very expensive study and when coupled with the review determining that this is not even needed to be done, it will most likely be scrapped. I saved this part of the review till last because it is a ‘red flag’ issue. Ethics. If you’re a big follower of this….-let’s call it- conflict….then you will understand right away what is happening. For everyone else I’ll try to explain as short and simple as possible. It has been determined (rather slyly and also without proper reasoning) that being unvaccinated is unethical, that saying no to receiving a vaccine for yourself or your child is unethical. So by their definition, they determine (time and time again) that studying already unvaccinated individuals is unethical. Remember, no one is withholding treatment, or refusing to give vaccines if requested; these are already unvaccinated individuals. What is unethical about that? Hell what is unethical about refusing a product, especially if that product has so many people claiming injury.

The third and final part to note is of course the actual proposed study. Now of course at first, everyone could be getting all giddy at the idea of finally getting that vax vs unvaxed study, to finally see for certain if all these people are as nutty as everyone thinks or if they are right and many, many people are suffering because of this. I’m hoping that if they, by some miracle actually decide to go ahead and do this, that they give more details on the proposed study. Going by what information they have currently given; this is going to be a lot of money wasted on crap, again. The very first problem is the groupings; they are not adequate and are not properly focused. By what is gathered here, they are grouping completely unvaccinated individuals with ‘alternate schedule’ vaccinated individuals. This is not vax vs unvaxed and the results will obviously come out skewed. This brings us to another foreseeable problem; the real concerns are not being addressed. This proposed study is examining the vaccine schedule, the focus is on health outcomes of those vaccinated according to said schedule, this will allow them to group unvaccinated individuals with those who have had all their vaccines but with an alternate schedule, instead of fully vaccinated vs completely unvaccinated. The specific parameters need to be stricter and should not be so loose as to include even at birth injections, or one vaccine in the same category as one who is completely free of vaccines. This brings us to the last tidbit; the health outcomes. Now those of you in the loop know and for many of you who don’t …….standard tests are crap. You can have a the whole array of standard tests done that will come up fine, then do one specific test that is not of the norm and voila, there really is something wrong. Those dealing with vaccine injuries know that standard tests will show up zilch even though something is terribly wrong. A perfect example is an autism child suffering greatly from milk and wheat. Some of the symptoms will point to an allergy, most mainstream health officials still will only admit to an allergic reaction in these children even though standard allergy tests will come up negative. However, if you do a urine peptide test, the results will show that milk and wheat are a problem…but even with that clear evidence, they will still claim allergy because there are certain things that at this point in time, absolutely cannot be said. So this will be a very big deal if this study were to be performed, this one little area alone could risk skewing the results into showing that absolutely nothing is wrong when it is possibly that a whole lot is wrong….and getting worse.

So sometime in mid-2012 we will hear from the IOM again, once they have conducted their review and we will meet again here to go over their findings.

Stay Tuned……There’s Ton of Fun For Everyone

It sure has been awhile since I’ve posted, computer crashes set you back immensely and it has taken quite a bit of time to get back up and running again…at least partially. When your computer gets a virus it is a drag, but you can learn from it, properly or the lazy way; this can be used as a great example of a huge problem with our healthcare.

So your computer gets a virus and crashes. Now you have to start from scratch and also take measures to ensure that the same thing, to the same degree does not happen again. So what do you do?  Well you could take lead from our “health care experts/system” and either wait for another virus to happen and try and deal with the problems that arise or you can use the “fool proof” virus protection as a preventative measure  that will 100% assure you not to get a virus.

Yeah Right!

The other thing you can do is actually learn from the experience and take measures from that knowledge without putting all of your reliance on a Product. You can learn what the virus attacks first so you can be aware of the signs and also ways to stop it once it has started, you can back up files to have ready in case of a crash so as to not lose all of your data and you can stay away from sites and downloads known to frequently contain viruses.

Lame example I know but if it relates then I’ll use it; someone, somewhere will understand it.

So now that things are mostly fixed on my end I can get back to chewing up the news and what excitement has been happening since I’ve been MIA.

I’m hoping to get to all of them, which will take time so I think a quick little bit about it is in order…

Dr. Andrew Wakefield has finally gotten his shit together and is suing the BMJ and others

A bunch of girls came down with symptoms similar to those claiming reactions from the HPV vaccine, those in charge are keeping things as hush, hush as possible

A seven year old girl dies shortly after a flu vaccine

Mothering.com does and article on VAERS

The IOM is at it again and already preparing to make the results of a long awaited study to meet their predicted results

Fox news reports that MMR is linked to blood disease, but the others aren’t. They don’t know why but encourage you still get all of them

The DSMV is causing lots of talk….this is a sad, sad tactic by those in charge that will cause devastation (yes it’s that bad) to a lot of families

A pause in bird flu research …the reason should have everyone concerned and asking questions about regular vaccines

GlaxoSmithKline and two doctors are being fined over irregularities in its vaccine trials

Mandatory vaccinations are trying to make its way into people’s lives….the people are pushing back

Mass vaccination of polio, causing high cases of debilitating polio

And anything else that comes up while I’m typing about the above. So apologies for the wait but please stay tuned, there’s a lot to go over

It’s Not Something You’re Simply Born With

Oh Autism Speaks, how you annoy me so. I haven’t seen you in my news feed for awhile but today you have graced me with your presence. This is what they put out today and surprise, surprise it’s another piece on genetics. I have to state first of all that this illusion of prenatal testing is ridiculous. We have not pin-pointed a gene or any way to determine whether a child has autism shortly after birth or prenatally. Even though this article states that it has a test for autism, please be aware that this is just a money grabbing scheme. They know a few genes that they have pin-pointed-among the hundreds of other ‘multiple variations’ that have been claimed- that not only occur in those with autism, but those also with other disorders and regular people. If you took 100 people without autism, you will find these noted genes among them. They don’t have autism, so claiming that this test is anything but a giant ploy is ludicrous. Please know that even if they do find ‘something’ they have no treatments. They have therapies and medications that turn your child into a zombie. There are actual treatments that you can spend your money on and they will actually help as opposed to $1,500+ for them to tell you, yes here it is, now let’s make you pay for intensive therapies and pump your kid full of anti-psychotics. Go ahead if that is how you want to do things but I honestly feel sorry for the child. I have spent an immense amount less than that and in 2yrs my son has made tremendous progress, but I’m also not one to look for that easy way out, the one pill cure all that most of these parents are blindly dreaming about. It is not gonna happen; this is far too complex a disorder for a simple quick fix solution. The only quick fix is stopping the increasing number of children affected, but since no one is looking at the actual cause and too focused on genetics, this isn’t happening any time soon.

The very first line tells all, about the motives behind this organization and general researchers of autism.

“A burst of research into the genetics of autism has given scientists insight into the basis for the disorder. Now, some companies aim to capitalize on these findings by developing DNA screens that might one day provide a diagnosis at birth”

Do any of you actually believe that this research is about helping people? Look up the word ‘capitalize’ in the dictionary. This is all about $$$$. Do you honestly believe that the Down syndrome test, which is ‘offered’ repeatedly during the prenatal process, is just there because they care? They make money off of every test done and then for that second test they make thousands more. Do you think sticking a needle into your womb is free just because you don’t see the money coming out of your pocket?

Ok enough of that, you get the point. It’s all about making the dough and maybe as a side effect a possible few kids and families may be helped, but I doubt it.

“That specifically targets the developmental disorder, searching the genome for either irregular CNVs or single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that could explain the symptoms.”

So what specific genes are named in autism because last I heard there were 100s of different possible combinations, with absolutely no chromosomal abnormalities? Are they just looking for irregular or duplicate genes and claiming autism? Can they no grasp the fact that SOMETHING has to affect these genes, these bits of DNA to change?

“These tests are not giving any answers and they are costing thousands of dollars “a microarray costs, on average, $1,500, and that’s without the bells and whistles such as doctor visits and additional gene sequencing”

These researchers are making millions looking at an end result.

“Therapies—a market that UK-based research publisher Global Data expects to top $5 billion in the US in 2018”

Why not do something productive in terms of genes and test children at birth and then after regression? Test the difference between parents who believe that their children were born with autism and those who watched their children regress after numerous vaccines.

Then this load of malarkey “These abnormalities remain difficult to detect until a child is around four years of age or older”… Really cause myself and other parents can tell you differently and correct me if I`m wrong but aren`t most children diagnosed around 18mths-2yrs old after nearly a year of actively trying to get a diagnosis. Isn`t that part of the whole vaccines don`t cause autism argument, that children are diagnosed right at the time of vaccines?

They go on and on about treatments and yet they only mention therapies. There is a huge difference and yet still many, many people –even professionals- still use the two interchangeably.

“The diagnostic holy grail is a molecular test that can pinpoint the disorder at birth to hook children into therapies straightaway”

Yes and yet after all this money spent you still have nothing, absolutely squat really. How long did it take to find out the problem with Down syndrome? If it were strictly a genetic problem, we would have no problem finding it. Before I move on I absolutely have to point out the horrific fact that our health system is absolutely burning itself alive. We can test for Down syndrome so why can’t we figure out why it’s happening? It’s like with vaccines, instead of actually addressing measles or any other, we use our ‘prevention’ methods and cross our fingers that it works and no one ever gets said disease again because we have no clue what to do when that happens. Wow we are truly f**ked, seriously over half of these parents have no idea how to take care of sick children. Look at how many are hospitalized due to dehydration…DEHYDRATION…seriously wtf, we should be teaching people what to do when they or their children become sick instead of focusing every ounce of energy into prevention and if that fails; more prevention. Here take this vaccine and you’ll never have to worry about your child getting sick ever again. Yes I am fully aware that this is not word for word what they are saying; I am however equally aware that this is the mindset people are getting because of the message that is being delivered. Don’t believe me, look at the flu shot. Beside the fact that we’ve seen the studies showing this vaccine to be pointless in preventing the flu and only reducing symptoms by %4, the message is ‘don’t wanna get sick and miss work, school etc. Get the flu shot, save your life and others’. So people go on down to Walgreens, the grocery store or wherever they are putting these disgusting stands and get their shot with full thinking that they are not going to get sick. A few days late they have the full blown flu and have absolutely no idea what to do because all they were told was get this and don’t get sick; no one says what you should do if you actually do get sick cause no one gets sick anymore because we have these wonderful magical vaccines right?

So moving on to thee best part of the article…
“We think that 80–90% of what causes autism is really the genetics. But pinning down the genetic cause of autism has been difficult. Known mutations comprise fewer than 20% of all cases of ASD’s”

These guys really have alot of nerve don’t they? They can only find known mutations –none specified, hell -none is ever specified- in less than 20% yet they, in basically the same sentence they try and claim that 80-90% of what causes autism is genetically based. It will take you a hundred years and you still won’t be able to prove that statement, that very poor assumption. If you just look at the increase you will see that 80-90% of what causes autism is ‘outward influence’ and if you close your eyes really, really hard…….you can hear the doctors whisper in your ear that it’s all genetics, you parent are to blame with your poor genes and choice in poor gened mate because he read an article somewhere 5 yrs ago.

Oh but my uncle, grandfather, parent or other has it, I think. Interesting that you can now diagnose everyone including Bill Gates to fit this idea laid out before you. Instead of nodding your head and thinking fondly of the quirky uncle on your mom’s side, why don’t you actually take a look? Maybe it’s all malarkey, maybe just maybe they came into the same situation as your child and what causes their autism is the same. Who the heck is to say, certainly not me because while my family – both side- are insane, quirky, do things other people would never have the balls to do type of people, none have autism, none flap their hands when they get excited, all of them speak and they do not have anything close to the physical issues my son has. Now I’m not saying that every autism is like my sons, not every child has autism because of vaccines- since the issue is much deeper than that- but I certainly am saying that no child is just born with genes like theirs unless there was exposure to something during pregnancy.

I also do love- not- how they pup every one up with ‘autism is caused by genes’ when they have this;

“Found in less than 1% of individuals with ASD. But this mutation alone isn’t the final word on an autistic diagnosis. Some people with the 16p11.2 deletion or duplication have no or few autistic symptoms”

So in short normal speak: you have squat. No wait, in fact, you have even more questions like why does this make sense to warrior parents and not you guys

“And many rare variants associated with autism present schizophrenic, epileptic or bipolar symptoms instead,”

Hmmm maybe they have the secret recipe? No I think they have just been doing a better job than you guys with far, far less money than you have at your fingertips. They know that autism and the above are not strictly psychiatric disorders, they know that these are things that can affect the whole body and that these are things that you are not simply ‘just born with’.

It’s actually quite sad when you think about it, all these people, families, loved ones told that this is the way things are and there is nothing that can be changed. Now we know that it is possible to have hope, that we can make lives better for these people. Take the ‘Gardisil Girls’ for example, there seemed to be no hope and yet when treated for the cause- or as much as we know at this point- these girls get better. The same type of treatment that is helping thousands of children with autism and that can help thousands more.

This is a false hope “A microarray screening for CNVs pinpointed the probable genetic basis for Lily’s autism”… the beginning of the article mentions this little girl as though they were going to reveal the secret to this genetic test that would diagnose at birth, yet now with proper wording you see that it is all just an illusion. They are hoping to come across one child –or group of children- that will unlock it all for them and we know that isn’t going to happen. These children have different causes and are each affected by so, differently and to such extremes it is hard to categorize them under the same diagnosis. One thing stands ever simply though. There is a cause. In this day to continue to doubt that is to pull the blinds shut and let the world move on without you; because we are. Children are recovering. They are not cured, because we can only do so much and we don’t have the money to research this properly. We can only continue our work while we watch millions spent on areas of research that are not helping a single child or family. Not one. Not ever.

And you wonder while all the warriors are pissed off.

“Despite extensive data collection and genomic screening, these microarrays can only identify an associated genetic abnormality in 8–25% of known clinical cases of autism, depending on whom you ask”

So even if we take their highest calculation of 25%, we still have that amount of children with a genetic abnormality that does not point to autism because this abnormality exists in other diagnoses and also regular everyday people. Still let’s throw them a bone and say good job, pat on the back for you. You took $1,500 from this family all to either confirm there suspicions, get tested earlier for therapies or….what? What treatment can you put together from this information? Earlier therapy, sure that’s a good thing I cannot disagree with however, even with those few extra months or years of therapy, you are only going to get so far. What these people aren’t saying out loud is that this test is not foolproof. Imagine taking your baby in, spending this money and getting back a positive result only, your child doesn’t have autism. Maybe there is no harm in that situation, but imagine the time and money spent, not to mention what impact this or any type of diagnosis has on a child. Then what of the other 75% that may be tested and will be told that their child is fine, only to later receive a diagnosis of autism.

I have to note that this article is truly annoying in that they keep relating to finding these ‘genes’ as the cause.
“But we’re still left with 75% of kids who still have an unknown cause.” No correction, you are STILL left with 100% of kids with an unknown cause and 25% of children that have similar gene abnormalities, which may or may not be related to autism.

“Despite the relatively low diagnostic yield, CNV-probing chromosomal microarrays are the recommended genetic test for autism by the American Society of Human Genetics and the Boston-based Autism Consortium”

Of course they are what else do you have? After how many years and how many billions of dollars, what have you come up with? After say ten years and possibly a million dollars –I am estimating extremely high- parents and others have come up with treatment plans and centers that are actually giving kids back their lives. – In a functional respect- They have also started centers for therapies, groups and so many things that actually help.

I’m so glad that they mentioned Fragile X in here because it’s another hot button issue for me. A gene doesn’t spontaneously break; I’ve talked to parents of children who have been diagnosed with Fragile X after a vaccine reaction. Same story; healthy child, meets milestones then regression day after vaccines, only this time it shows on a test as Fragile X. Saying that Fragile X is the cause is again, absurd. What happened to this gene and other genes is an end result. Our genes reflect our state and are impacted by such. Saying that this is the cause leads people to think ‘oh its genes, nothing we can do’ when that is not true. These kids could actually be getting treatment that would make their lives easier and instead they are basically left in their own world and struggling when it doesn’t have to be that way.

“Most of the time, mutations associated with autism are formed de novo in the autistic person.”

I would love to see where they got this from and until I do, I call BS on this. If this were true to the degree that they are stating it, then there would already be prenatal testing and autism wouldn’t be such a hot topic as it is.

Thinking that it is strictly genes is very detrimental to families. There will be few families willing to have another child based on the information being spat and the risk of inheritable autism. The whole family is missing out when it does not have to be so. I took what I know about autism –my sons specifically- and I made a prevention plan when I got pregnant again. My daughter doesn’t have autism and maybe it is just a coincidence, but apparently so are children dying 30min after receiving a vaccine. Who am I to claim truth when I have no money to do research to back up my claims, yet neither do they. Even ground for now I guess, let’s move on.

“Even at the end of the day, the complete genome sequences of 10,000 autistic diagnoses still won’t be able to predict definitively what the detailed clinical outcome will or won’t be,” says Scherer. For that reason, experts emphasize the necessary role of clinical geneticists, like Schaaf, to help interpret the data and make it clear that genes aren’t the be-all and end-all”

*Applause* And even if it was 100% foolproof, it still would not help us with prevention or treatment. It still will not help these children or their families

Finding the cause in genes in order to diagnose earlier or prenatally; is a waste of time, money and resources

We need to know the cause in order to find the cure. We need to stop looking at everything but the obvious.
